There's certainly no accounting for taste. Musically, many of us have completely different preferences in the shows we watch, and even the food we eat. Stand-up comedy is hardly any different, but unless you're in the clubs or a serious podcast enthusiast, chances are your best outlets are Comedy Central or those emails your uncle sends you that you quickly delete. Well, fortunately Comedy Central has opened up its archives in iOS form with CC: Stand-Up.

The app simplifies Comedy Central's archives into an easily navigable touch format, providing clips from any of the cable network's programming over its history. Musical comedic acts, roasts, and even underground comics are all featured. Some performers, such as Amy Schumer, who have other shows tend to be a bit more prominently featured, but you can very easily delve further past these "channels" with a simple search.

Once you find a comic you do like, you can access the app's best feature, a matrix that connects the clip to others based on a number of similar factors. If you follow the comedic web down the alternative path, options from performers like Mitch Hedberg and Zach Galifianakis will start to appear. If they happen to have their own show or films, those paths will take you in a similar direction. It's very intuitive to use, and hopefully music recommendation apps will take a similar approach in the future. All in all, though limited sadly to clips and segments, there has never been an easier way to share comics you like with friends.
